Oh my goodness that is a big litter. 6 puppies is a LOT for a 5 lb female. Do not "wait" to see if they latch. If you don't have the nutridrops yet, use a drop of karo syrup on your clean fingertip and put it on each puppies tongue then help them to latch on. But first and formost make sure the puppies are warmed like Kimberly said BEFORE getting them to latch on. You should never feed a cold puppy as it can kill them. Nothing will kill a puppy faster than being chilled. So it is imparative that you make sure thier BODIES are warm, not just the room. Good luck and please keep us informed so we can help you not lose any babies. It is heartbreaking.. I know..
