I raise Yorkies and Maltese. A Yorkie is just about as big as he/she will get as an adult, by the age of 6 months. I usually weigh a pup at 12 wks and double it to get the adult weight. That is usually pretty accurate. Diet is important. Kibble (a premium dry food) is best so wet food doesn't accumulate in the teeth. Also Yorkies are subject to having too many teeth (baby teeth do not fall out and permanent ones come through beside the baby teeth). Chew toys are really important to help the tiny baby teeth come out.If the baby teeth don't fall out, a vet should be consulted for extraction when the dog is older. They grow so fast, so enjoy that baby!
