You are right. Some breeders use that as an excuse to get more money from puppy buyers. It just cost $33 to get litter registration papers for a litter of 4. Many times the parents are AKC registered but some breeders are so afraid of being inspected by AKC that they will double register their dogs with CKC or APR and not get AKC papers because they know if they register very many AKC litters they can be inspected.
