I'm mom to rescues and it's not only very rewarding but it saves you money too because your Yorkie will come to you already spayed or neutered which I know in NJ is a savings of about $350.00 plus they are vetted, dental done etc. The normal adoption fee through rescue is around $300 - $400 for puppy or an adult although sometimes the adults are a little less. And, the money goes back into helping others waiting. Pure bred Yorkie puppies although scarce are available if that is what you want. I got Lilly at 13 weeks old and she was spayed and had her shots and was vetted etc. Her adoption fee was $400 and she's now 10 months old and beautiful weighing in at just shy of 4 lbs. And an up side of an adult is that you know what they will look like as they've already reached their maturity and in a lot of cases the potty training is complete for you too, as you know Yorkies can be stubborn
