I really hope nobody gets offended by this, I'm not trying to be hurtful or mean, but I personally get really annoyed whenever there are 6 thousand new posts on the General Discussion section, especially questions that would have been automatically answered had they looked or posted on another section of the forum. If the welcoming committee can inform newbies of the search feature as well as the other great sections, maybe that'll cut down on the amount of posts and there will be less that get looked over.

Just a thought.
I'm not offended at all, but for me I'm different in that I do not get annoyed because I know (especially for me) that I could have looked up everything on this forum and never posted at all, and asking questions was my way of becoming comfortable with everyone here. YT can be a bit intimidating at first (at least for me) and getting some "real time" responses to my posts and questions made me feel a part of so that I could venture forward and become a part of the group That's just me, and everyone is different.

I've said it before and I'll say it again that I do think an "Introduce Yourself" section would compliment the YT site tremendously but I'm sure the Administrators of the site get so many great ideas they have to pick and choose what they believe is best.
