I cut the hair near the eye so n hair pokes them in the eye. On a puppy I would use warm water and if you feel you need to you can buy tearless dog shampoo to wash their face with.

Use a fles comb to comb out the crusty stuff that collects in the corners of their eyes.

You have to keep up with the eyes every day or it gets out of control fast. At first your puppy will hate this but talk softly and be gentle and soon he will just sit there and allow you to do what you need to.

If the smell is really that bad go to a vet because there may be an infection.
