I would wait I think.... unless you can pick the pup out now and get it after you come back. Taking a pup away when you first get them might be kind of tough. I know takeng my 2 out just for the day is a lot of work.
Sadie was very scared when we first got her she was scared of anything new... We had to try to keep things calm at first.
