I found it really funny that pro spay/neuter people on the internet spend so much time saying dogs don't get fat and that is a myth. Then Ellie's nutritionist says right out that caloric needs decrease after altering. |
Spaying/neutered does not make them fat. Overfeeding and under-exercising does. Their metabolism does slow down some after being spayed/neutered however - so food intake may need to be decreased slightly. Most of all its important that a dog exercises to keep from gaining weight. Lacy never became overweight after being spayed
