I would think that even if they could do that, it's not the incision that is the painful part, it's grooving out the bone.
Sammy seems to be past that hump with the pain meds. Her pain must be less now since she is not shaking or showing signs of increased pain as the meds wear off. She is due to get them now and I haven't given them to her yet and she just walked (almost running - me chasing - she's fast!) to greet my husband!
