That's what my vet gave Rudy when we took him on the long car ride to the shore last year. It really worked for him. He was awake the whole time but not anxious at all in his crate on the way down.
I didn't experience any of those symptoms with Rudy when he took the medicine. But he's a big boy, weighs almost 15 lbs. Maybe you should call your vet and let him know Polo's reaction to the medicine. Maybe next time they can give him something different. Doesn't sound like Acepromazine agrees with him.
