I think exercise is the answer to their hyperactivity. If you could just schedule a good walk in the morning to burn off some of their energy, that might help. I know it's hard in the winter. Hopefully the snow will melt soon!
I have two males also, and they need outdoor exercise. They get cabin fever if they're in the house more than two days and they start to act up. I've found walking knocks them out more than anything else.
