Are you combing out dry? If so that is the worse thing to do on a yorkie show coat. And I use coat oil when I have my dogs in wrappers and that usually keeps the matts away and I just use my fingers to pry away at the knot. Usually I can get my dog done in about 2 hours from start to finish. That is a bath first of course. Maybe the yorkie doesn't have a silky texture? Maybe it's more course? Radar's coat is so silky it doesn't matt so bad
