Mine isn't MVD but external shunts (too many to operate) Cornell was impressed because blood flow through his liver is almost normal. No signs or symptoms. He had bladder stones but we don't know if it really was related to the liver or not. Long story.

We do homecooked (Cornell nutritionist helped us with this) cottage cheese, egg, pasta, and vegetables.
Fruit (dehydrated for chewing like a rawhide) and fresh and cheerios for treats
Supplements from cornell and Shaklee Liver DTX (has milk thistle and I love their testing standards), other herbals from vets.

We are doing great. I plan on having my dog for a LONG LONG time but was devistated when I first found otu. I couldn't believe it. I spent top $$ for a healthy dog from a show breeder. :-( It has totally turned my life around.
