glad to hear that his spirits are up at least. eating, drinking, and eliminating are all good signs. i would definitely take him to an orthopedic surgeon as soon as you can since he's holding the leg up all the time. His lameness could have nothing to do with the pins, it may be from his knees. its hard to tell but a lot of people come in saying their dogs paw or hip hurts and not even know that it was the knee all along that was causing the dog to hold up his leg.

i hope bernie starts feeling better soon.
