First of all, my condolences on your relationship, but my sincere respect for you having the courage to head out on your own.

Yorkies are resilient, and Simba will probably adapt faster than you. If you don't have him trained to use pee pads, you probably should consider it. It's going to be much harder for you to take him out every time he needs to go outside since you no longer have a yard.

Anything you can do to get him regular exercise will help.

If he tends to be yappy when you're away, you might have problems with the neighbors. You might want to leave the TV or radio on and leave him lots of chew toys to occupy him. And check with your neighbors to see if he's behaving.
