 Hello friends, very sad news this afternoon
I have some very sad news.... we lost little Muddie this afternoon. After the mud ordeal she was weak but she seemed to be doing ok yesterday afternoon. She did nurse and finally laid down. This morning she was a bit sluggish, but it appeared like she had nursed 'casue mom's udder wasn't extended. This afternoon she take a quick turn downhill - our horse vet was on another call. I had just made the decision to carry her in the car to Dr. Amy when she quit breathing. I am heartbroken, crushed, and in tears.....
Foals are very fragile and when they get chilled it is very hard to bring them back. Thank you to everyone for your sweet comments about her. May she forever rest in peace. I know that she is running in the green fields just on the other side of the rainbow bridge. |
