I can't answer that since I have the opposite situation. My dogs are only put in the crate when someone is not here, which is not very often and is never for more than a few hours at the most. The rest of the time they have free roam of the house since someone is here with them.

If I were you, I would try blocking off a room for her, such as the kitchen, making sure that there is nothing there that she can get into and no way she can get out. I would leave her water (and food if she free feeds) and a bed and toys and pee pee pads "just in case". I would feel better leaving her for 9 hours in that situation than in such a small crate.
