Default ? about BUN level ...

The pups were recently neutered/spayed. They did NOT have identical bloodwork done, so I can't compare results. However, Puddin's BUN (blood urea nitrogen) levels were high: 35 against a canine "normal" of 6-25.

Normally, that would indicate that a dog was going into kidney failure, that there was too much protein remaining in the blood. But the dogs are fed nearly PURE protein, all meat products, with a little other stuff thrown in. Would it not be expected that it would be a bit higher? Or do I need to get him back in for more serious bloodwork?

TIA for your assistance.
