[Mom to Hot Rod]

I was talking with a friend of mine who works at a cat rescue and she recommended that I get a 2nd opinion about Hot Rod. Coincidentally I found out that my old vet from years ago is practicing close to where I have moved to. She still wants to find the results of the culture but she has prescribed a histamine, medicated shampoo and ear wash and medication. She found yeast buildup in his ears and did another scrapping. While she cannot rule out ringworm, she doesn't think that is the case. She is leaning towards food a food allergy. I really didn't want to give medication if it wasn't necessary so we all decided to hold off on ringworm meds til results come in. I feel better being able to be proactive with the new treatment prescribed. I won't be able to use shampoo for about a week because Hot Rod was just neutuered Monday but at least his ears will be cleaned out. I am very glad that I decided to listen to my friend and got another opinion. Maybe you might want to do the same.
