I say it in a nice way, as though I am sharing an interesting and little-known fact, and most people do find it interesting. I don’t get upset with them, or tell them they are perpetuating a stereotype. It is actually a really good lead-in to seeing if the person is aware of puppy mills. If they are interested in what you just explained, you could add that puppy mills are famous for doing that, and if they ask what that is, then you can share and educate one more person on what they are. |
Maybe you could come out with a little tape, and we could just let them hear your voice saying this.
I tried this at first, I left out the part of them being "runts", but I don't think I want to educate the "world" any longer. It's different when the come on the forum, I think they are more interested in learning. When people ask me if Joey is a teacup, I just say he's a standard size yorkie.
