I have two senior Yorkies that came from deplorable conditions. They are frightened of everything, but that would be comparing apples to oranges. I also have a Yorkie that came from a loving home at 4 mo. Even he responds negatively to loud noises. Dogs don't like arguing either. Often wonder if they can feel the negative vibes, and you know that dogs are very intuitive. My one senior girl is deathly afraid of thunderstorms. There was a thread about that and it was suggested to not feed into it because it just re-enforces their fear. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will respond to you and give you better ideas.
