I've just started to train Rufus from using his pads to going outside, I am using the same trick as For My Coby, he gets praise still for going on his pad but never a food treat, I save those for when he goes outside, he is still a bit wary and tries to hold it until we get home and he is a long way from asking to go out but he has learned so much since he comes home that I'm sure it won't be long. I also love the idea of bells next to the door to tell me he wants to go, definately going to be trying that one!
