I got my puppy at 8 weeks, that's normal here in UK, but I can't see that 7 weeks can be much different. It comes down to this,
My pup did not go to the loo nearly as much as everyone said he would, he can (and did) go several hours quite happily.
You cannot harm your puppy by trying to make him hold on for too long, if it gets too much he will just pee in his bed, if he has not done that so far then you have no reason to think there will be a problem.
He seems to be doing very well, keep it up and good luck,
