Yes, it is quite an adjustment period. But that crate is going to be her private space, so don't cave in. The crying part is so hard. It breaks your heart but at the same time you don't want to teach her that if she does that you will take her out. I'd put a ticking clock in there with her and some toys (something to chew on and something to cuddle with). I teach my pups one word for quiet; I just say "hush" starting when they are small. Use a calm voice even if she is loud and tell her what a good girl she is. The sound of your voice may soothe her. Wish you much luck!
