You never know how many people will bid on your item. Just because their watching your item doesn't mean that they're not watching another item similar and/or cheaper than yours.
Once you have a bid on an item, you are basically in a contract with that person. If you wanted a minimum amount for your item, then you should have put a
reserve price on it (option that you can choose when you list the item). That way, you have the option of not selling the item if you don't get the price that you want...but since you already have a bid, that option is no longer available to you.
I know that if I REALLY want something, I'll wait until there is less than 20 seconds left in the auction and then bid. Normally, (about 95% of the time), I will win the auction.
