my bf has a pit (100+lbs) and a rat terrier (about 8 lbs) and before the terrier a little chi... and they all live fine , they have run of the house all day long... and they have not have any problems at all... if the pit is trained and well behaved with good temperament and such then i wouldn't see the prob. like someone said above, it's about when they play and such like her rottie, that'd be the reason i'd keep them separate when not at home... but please don't condemn a breed for bad/irresponsible owners... remember we get upset with the "teacup" term in the media... turn the tables around, it is very upsetting to see all these "bad" dogs in the media, when it is truly an issue of irresponsibility... no dog is inherently bad or good, they want to please, and they do what they are taught...

just my .02... sorry it's so long
