He decided that it was a staph infection. He gave her a steroid shot to control itching and put her on antibiotics for 10 days. He said he has never seen anything quite like it. She had a fever of 103*, but has been eating, playing, and generally acting normal. Her poo has been a little soft, but nothing crazy. I'm just worried about her and I was wondering what you all thought. My mom thinks it's weird that the vet didn't try to biopsy it. Any opinions, advice, or experience would be greatly appreciated. |
That is EXACTLY what my little 3 pound Emmy has!! Started out as a teeny little bump that maybe looked like a bug bite (on her tummy) turned into a quarter size I am guessing boil, but I saw it after it "popped" and it was a weird greenish color.
The vet didn't want to put her on meds, so I wash her once a week for 4 weeks (covered in shampoo for 10 minutes, then rinse) in pyoben shampoo.
I can't remember if we have one or two more weeks to go, but looks much better, except now she is getting what looks like a tiny little zit in another area on her tums
