To actually "crate train" as xxmxaxrxyxx said you need a small one. That way they won't potty inside the crate (because they don't want to potty where they have to sleep). It also creates the "cave" feeling of security for them. Coby's is just big enough for him to him to stand, turn, and lay. He LOVES his little crate. Now that he's trained pretty well to the freedom he's allowed, I will leave him in a pen if we're going to be gone an extra long time. But the small crate works great for training.
