The first time I put Franklin's harness/leash on, he froze and just sat on the ground. SO.. we started out by letting him drag it around. After a while of that, I took him outside again. No go. I even tried to entice him with his favorite treat -- CHEESE! I literally went through half a piece of cheese trying to get him to go 3 feet. Then we tried it with two people. This helped a little. Franklin would SORT of follow my boyfriend if he ran in front of him.
I don't know how or when it happened but one day we went outside and he loved it! Now he walks like crazy. I think just continuing to take her out every day and encouraging her will do the trick. Even if she just sits there, let her get accustomed to the leash and being outside. Eventually just sitting there will be boring and she'll want to explore. Good luck! |
