You could massage each ear simultaneously btwn your fingers - this hits all the "energy meridians" (if you will) and supposedly can be quite calming for all animals.

No lumps, bumps or painful areas.
It doesn't get worse in certain rooms either.
She started it a little bit in bed last night out of nowhere but it seemed to stop a couple minutes after covering her up. She isn't doing it now but I'm sure she will in a few hours and it will be the same temperature in here.
