Cleaning ears? My furbaby is now recovering from a nasty yeast infection in both of her ears. The vet gave us a prescription ear cleaner along with antibiotic drops that she will receive for 10 days. The vet showed me how to properly clean her ears and told me to clean them again on Friday. I'm a little nervous about cleaning them...the vet made it look so easy. The vet squirted the solution in the ear and smooshed a piece of a cotton cloth deep into the ear and removed it several times. She kept repeating the procedure until the cotton was clean.
My question is what kind of cotton cloth should I use? I don't want to use something that will leave cotton fibers in her ears. The vet had something that looked like a medical type piece of cotton like a 2X2, but I don't have those at home. Do I just use a kleenex wipe? It needs to be something that I can get pretty deep in to the canal as to remove the yeast build up. What do you use at home? |
