Most experts recommend that you wait until the first puppy is at least a year and well trained before adding another. Like with children, puppies will pick up bad behavior just as easily as good behavior. Rescues often get pairs about a year or two old who are turned in because they are not housebroken and badly behaved. A well trained young adult is a great role model for a puppy.
