We had a remote trainer....you push a negative button when they do something bad and then a postitive one when they stop, etc. We used it on our walks (for the big dogs) and in the house (for LG's barking). It seemed to work okay...but after awhile, it seemed like they got "immune" so to say, to the sound. We would carrying it on our walks because there are some dogs at a house down our road that follow us and bark nonstop, but it didn't phase them...maybe we were not close enough!
We have since been using an empty soda can w/ some marbles or pennies in it...shake that a few times when LG starts barking and she quits! We have three of these around the house...and they seem to work well!
