I think he may be overwhelmed. When my puppies go to their forever homes, I give them a letter from the puppy full of personal info. about themselves and asking that they take the pup straight home, not stopping anywhere to show him off (which is so tempting), and not to have people come over to see him for a minimum of 3 days. So many adjustments to go through so quickly. That you are worrying shows that you are going to be a great Mom. Give him quiet time with his new family and maybe hold back on the treats right away. He may not have ever had them before. I'd suggest a tube of Nutical and give him a pea size drop from your finger when you feel it is necessary. Make sure he is drinking. After the first couple of weeks you will both be settled in and wonder how you ever got along without each other! Puppy naps are a NECESSITY. Don't let him run himself ragged, it will throw off his sugar level.
