Here's an old home remedy that I've used on my kids (human ones) and I don't know if it'll help, but maybe worth a try...Warm hydrogen peroxide in a shot glass placed in a cup of hot water. Soak it up with a cotton ball and squeeze into the ear. The warmth and the bubbling seem to relieve the pressure and itching. When the bubbling stops wipe it out with a dry cotton ball and follow with the medicated drops.
