My rescue still has her dewclaws, and just me personally, if she ever undergoes anesthesia (teeth cleaning or whatever) I will have them removed. It's just another pain in my butt to keep attentiont to them, and they serve no purpose. So if I were you, I'd definitely get it done. Shouldn't hurt the dog...it's probably, what, one stitch or something ? Anyway, hope that advice helps....good luck
