How much correlation is there between birth size and the grown dog?
Max weighed 3 1/2 oz and is less than 3" long. His brother and sister are 3 1/2" and weighed about 4 1/2 oz at birth.
Mom Lexy weighs 5#. She only had one puppy the first time. He was almost 6 oz and a full 3 1/2" long. Grown, he weighs about 6# and is taller than mom. As an only, I don't know how representative he is of size. He was FAT when he was born and grew VERY fast. But, he got all the mother's nutrition.
The two litters have different sires but both weigh only about 4#.
