Bones calcify about 10 days before the bitch is due so xray should be done after that time. A bitch will whelp 63 days after she ovulated which is usually 10 days into her heat cycle. Her temp should be taken morning and night at least 1 week prior to due date and I set up her whelping box at that time. If you will get the book that I suggested it will give you a list of whelping supplies and you can have it on hand for future reference. We had a dog that puppies when I was a kid as well, in fact my parents raised Poms for a short while. Believe me it did not prepare me to be a breeder of these little angels. Don't sell your gal short, do your homework.
