I have a store on ebay. Typically if you price low enough people will wait until the very last minute which can produce a nice bidding war. Before I list anything I decide what is the bare minimum that I want from this item and that is where I set it.

Also, not sure if you did this but when you go to list you can compare your product with similar products that have been listed and it will give you a better guide sometimes as to where to start your bidding

Or you can always choose buy it now with a make an offer choice.
