Agree with Michele (MyFairLacy), she is most likely "marking" her territory. her new home, etc.
She's basically leaving her "scent" so others know it s "hers". 
They're funny like that. COuld you imagine if humans did that too. LOL! We'd rub our butts all over the place!--"IT'S MINE!!!"
