its most likely that she has too much room to roam when she's unsupervised. i agree that gating her in the kitchen or bathroom is best for potty training and her own safety. i use an ex-pen for Morgan when i'm at work. she's going to be 2 years old (omg..) in less then a month and the only accidents she's had in the past year and a half have been the "OMG i can't hold it any longer because i have the runs" accidents. can't blame her for that.

also you mentioned lots of rain and then when you said "bug" i thought that may be true. the rain brings up all sorts of things from the ground and carries it around. So it may be that Zoey picked up something while out on a walk. if your worried you can take a sample to your vet to test it and make sure.
