I'm so sorry this happened to Bentley
I agree with the others, I would get a second opinion.
I had a good friend who's cat was hit by a car and was paralyzed. She had to express her bladder every so many hours, every day for years. I don't know how she kept up with it, but she loved the cat.
If you do find out for sure that it's permenant and you find that you can't keep up with Bentley's care, please take him to one of the rescue organizations.
