Justed wanted to thank those of you that posted and those that said silent prayers. I was born and raised in NYC and never had a pet until recently, at the urging of my wife and daughters.
Because of my unemployment situation, Max and I have gotten particularly close. It has been an amazing experience for me - having a dog, and one that I wish I would have done earlier.
It was my wonderful experience with Max that made it a no-brainer to not spare any expense in treating him, despite my unemployment situation and the fact that we have very little savings.
I have no regrets, nor will I, about what we did, and he continues to do well and get ever closer to being a healthy dog - I just hope the God of Dogs will reward me with a nice job soon!
