I tell people to stay away from the ER vets, as they have a license to hold you up. Your regular vet is much better.
I know that there are times that it isn't possible to have your regular vet. As I live in a farming community, our vets are on 24 hour call. They know us and work with us through out the year, so an emergency call isn't that much more expensive than regular hours. That vet really did a job on you. I would check into it with a fine tooth comb. There is no reason for that care to have cost so much.
Most times bloody stool is Cocci, which a sulfa drug will stop, or by eating what they shouldn't. I feel for you ,as there is no way that I could afford that kind of vet bill. To me that is above and beyond reasonable charges. |
