I have clipped my 5 to 8 lbs Yorkies and my 35 lb Skye Terrier with the Oster!! I dont need two clippers, I just change the blade size depending on what style I want to clip. I do have 2 clippers if I am doing alot of grooming that day and one gets hot, I just switch to the other one. Or if one is being serviced at Ryans, I have another one handy. Just remember, the higher the # of the blade, the closer the cut. I think a #40 is a surgical length cut(used by vets before surgery), and a #10 is an all around short body cut. The 5/8 blade is a small blade perfect for ears, butts and feet. I use this size on my show dogs ears and scissor the feet. The Whals Peanut is handy as it is rechargable and I can do a quick fix at the show. I also got my grooming table and ring-side table at Ryans. (No, I dont work there!LOL) Also my Oster stand dryer too. Good luck!!! Its just nicer to groom at home for you and your dog. |
