I'm so sad about Skoshi and about the scare you had and about the St Bernard they lost.....
But the thing that I got out of this thread...... We take our babies to vet with a bit of trepidation each time (although I try not to get myself all upset over something that is deemed safe but with risks). BUT we feel a little bit guilty for feeling that way and not trusting our long-time family vet. But there is no reason not to ask "have you been having any issues with the anesthesia/this procedure/complications" lately?" Or "when's the last time you did this procedure/how are they doing?" This goes for both our human doctors and our vets. It's not being mistrusting, but it truly could help a vet put a puzzle together.
