I'll give my two the Old Mother Hubbard treats occasionally. Ruby is not a chewer so I don't have to worry too much about giving her treats that last. Reno is though and I got a teething toy (worm) that makes a crackling noise that he loves to chew. It can be frozen to relieve teething discomfort for puppies.
They haven't had any bully sticks in months now, and won't again after the horror stories I've seen posted recently.
