Oh my, you could have been describing our 16 year old Blondie. In addition, she is completely blind now. Her kidneys are also in bad shape and she drinks and pees probably more than a gallon a day. She had a real bad spell and we thought we were losing her about 3 years ago. I even stayed home from work the day I brought her home from the vet thinking it was "the day". She is often lost, howls inconsolably unless you feed her. The only thing that brings her comfort is food and water (which both go right through her). We did have to restrict her access in the house, because she was beginning to not make it back to the litter box.

I wonder the same thing - when do I make that decision??? But she doesn't seem to be in real pain. She still ocassionally likes to snuggle. I just ask her to please "tell me" when she's tired.

Good luck and hugs!!
