The funeral for my husband's best friend is tomorrow. He died from MRSA that got into this blood. He was a completely healthy 65 year old man with no chronic illnesses at all. A couple of weeks ago, he thought he had the flu, but he got sicker and sicker. By the time he went into the hospital, he had MRSA in his blood stream. It attacked his heart and lungs. His heart was extremely damaged by the MRSA and it formed a blood clot that went to his brain and he had a huge stroke. He never regained consciousness and they took him off life support a couple of days ago.
My husband is heartbroken and we are all shocked that this could happen out of the blue to a perfectly healthy man. They have no idea how he contracted it. It is very scarey.
