Rusty's first grooming was with Petsmart. I do not know what the groomer did to him, but he has not liked any groomers since. I groom him at home myself and he still does not like it and he is 3 years old now. He detests getting his nails clipped or his face cleaned.
Before I took him to Petsmart, it never bothered him to be brushed or his nails handled. All I can imagine is the groomer had no experience with a teeny tiny puppy and made him hate grooming.
That's just my experience though.
Dogs never forget though. I do know that!
